Why is this important?
Research shows that 67% of couples experience a significant drop in the quality of their relationship during the first three years of their baby’s life.
A healthy relationship with your partner is one of the most important foundations of your baby’s social and emotional development.
My goal is to support you to maintain and increase your relationship satisfaction, emotional connection, respect, and appreciation for each other during this unique life transition.

- Improve your communication skills
- Effectively work through conflict
- Increase your relationship satisfaction
- Improve the quality of parent-infant interaction with a responsive parenting approach
- Recognize emotional, psychological and developmental needs of your infant/child
Course Outcomes
This course is based on over 50 years of research from The Gottman Institute, an international leader in research on what makes relationships last. Dr. Gottman’s research shows that families who have participated in this workshop experience:
- A significantly lower rate of postpartum mood disorders and depression
- A higher level of relationship satisfaction
- A decrease in relationship hostility
- A decreased likelihood of divorce/relationship dissolution
Course Format
I am currently offering this course privately through couples counselling sessions, virtually or in-person (in Campbell River).*
Time Commitment: 6 – 10 hours, split into 1 or 2 hour sessions
This course is relevant and welcoming to couples of all genders + sexual orientations.
* These sessions are usually covered under extended health benefits (insurance) + FNHA.
